Brief about Illumine: We are a knowledge impact lab working on solving persistent & unsolved knowledge problems in society – how to build intrinsic self-esteem in children, how to build intrinsic motivation in working professionals, how to embed ideals that help individuals find meaning & purpose at work, how to enable entrepreneurs/ small businesses contribute to their communities/ society while also growing their business, etc.
About the team & brief about culture: We're a close-knit team of around 30-40 people, many of whom have been with us for over a decade. The organization is largely flat, collaborative, and mission-focused. Because of this stability, HR has historically been handled by different people as an additional responsibility. But as Illumine grows in new directions, we're now ready to build HR as a core capability – and that is where this opportunity comes in.
About the opportunity: We are looking for someone who cares about the purpose & missions of Illumine, and hence, co-own the challenge of building a lasting organization by putting the right team together & nurturing them.
The role: Since, this will be the first step in defining this team, you will work closely with senior leaders on everything HR – including designing & crafting roles in new knowledge domains, finding the right people, building connects with colleges/ universities, recruitment & onboarding, building capacity development programs, creating tools for reviews focused on growth rather than evaluation, creating systems to retain and nurture employees, creating a sustainable pipeline including internships, fellowships; ensuring compliances, etc.
In short, it's a huge opportunity to build an organization that is growing keeping people, first. The role offers a vast landscape to be creative in our approach, try new experiments, and continuously break free from traditional ways of 'managing HR' to figuring out ways to 'unleash human potential & nurture builders' in a mission-driven environment.
Growth & Future prospects: It will start as a 3-6 month internship, and could extend into a full-time offer based on your performance and our needs.
