Role Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and talented Percussion Teacher to join our dynamic Music faculty. The ideal candidate will be passionate about percussion education, capable of inspiring students across different age groups, and experienced in preparing them for performances, recitals, and examinations under international music boards such as Trinity College London (TCL), Rock school (RSL), or ABRSM.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver engaging and structured percussion lessons for students of varying skill levels.
- Train students in drums, rhythm instruments, and percussion ensembles across multiple musical genres.
- Prepare students for music board examinations (TCL, RSL, or ABRSM) and school performances.
- Conduct and coordinate ensembles, bands, and percussion groups, ensuring performance readiness.
- Collaborate with fellow Music Department members for concerts, events, and interdisciplinary programs.
- Maintain and manage percussion instruments and ensure their regular tuning, care, and upkeep.
- Assess and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback to enhance performance skills.
- Inspire students to pursue music with creativity, discipline, and confidence.
- Strong proficiency in drums and percussion performance across diverse genres (classical, contemporary, world music, etc.).
- Ability to read, write, and teach music notation effectively.
- Experience in ensemble direction and performance coordination.
- Certification in Music from Trinity College London (TCL), Rock school (RSL), or ABRSM (Grade 8 or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in teaching percussion, preferably in an IB/IGCSE/ICSE school setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a student-centric approach.
- Passion for mentoring young musicians and nurturing their artistic potential.
