A quality assurance (QA) tester's job is to ensure that software or a website functions properly and meets quality standards. They do this by: 
  • Testing: Running manual and automated tests to find and document bugs, flaws, and consistency issues 

  • Analyzing: Reviewing software and system specifications, and analyzing product features 

  • Planning: Designing test plans and strategies, and ensuring they align with the development process 

  • Collaborating: Working with software developers and project managers to determine project requirements and scope 

  • Reporting: Creating reports to highlight the status of the software application 

  • Researching: Looking into new testing processes and technologies 

  • Troubleshooting: Assisting with troubleshooting issues 

  • Updating: Keeping bug databases up to date 



QA testers need to have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and be familiar with software development methodologies and processes. They should also have excellent communication and collaboration skills.
