Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software IT Project Manager with 12-16 years of expertise to lead the delivery of large, complex software projects while maintaining a strong focus on client interaction and ensuring customer satisfaction. In this role, you will oversee the full project lifecycle from inception to delivery, managing client expectations, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with exceptional quality. Your ability to navigate client relationships and ensure alignment between business goals and technical solutions will be essential to success.
This is a leadership position that offers the opportunity to shape client outcomes and influence the development of our product suite, helping us continue to drive innovation in the logistics technology space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Engagement & Relationship Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing relationships throughout the project lifecycle. Build strong, trust-based relationships with key client stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are clearly understood and addressed. Conduct regular client meetings to provide project updates, discuss progress, and resolve any concerns. - Project Leadership & Execution:
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale software projects, ensuring they meet client requirements and align with business objectives. Manage resources, timelines, budgets, and scope, ensuring high-quality delivery within agreed parameters. - Client Requirements & Customization:
Work closely with clients to gather detailed requirements, define project scope, and establish clear deliverables. Translate client needs into actionable tasks for the development and technical teams, ensuring that the final solution aligns with client expectations. - Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, QA, product management, etc.) to ensure smooth and efficient project delivery. Ensure that all internal stakeholders are aligned on project objectives and timelines and facilitate communication between teams and clients. - Risk & Issue Management:
Proactively identify project risks, particularly those that could impact client satisfaction or project timelines. Develop mitigation strategies, resolve issues promptly, and communicate risks to both clients and internal stakeholders to ensure minimal impact on project success. - Agile Project Management:
Drive the adoption and practice of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) within the team. Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, ensuring iterative progress and continuous client feedback. - Change Management:
Manage any changes in project scope, timelines, or deliverables, ensuring that clients are informed and approvals are obtained where necessary. Communicate project adjustments transparently to clients, ensuring expectations are managed. - Client Training & Onboarding:
Provide client training, product demonstrations, and ongoing support to ensure smooth onboarding and full adoption of the software solution. Work with the client success team to ensure ongoing support post-project. - Post-Project Support & Client Satisfaction:
Ensure that clients are satisfied with the delivered solution and provide ongoing support as needed. Gather post-project feedback to identify areas of improvement for future projects and enhance the overall client experience. - Continuous Improvement & Feedback Loop:
Collect client feedback throughout the project lifecycle and after delivery, using it to drive continuous improvements in both the product and the project management process. Advocate for the clients needs to internal teams and help shape product enhancements that better meet customer demands.
Key Requirements:
Education & Experience:
Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- 12-16 years of experience in IT/software project management, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership role managing large-scale, client-facing projects.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering software products or IT projects in a product-based organization, ideally in the logistics, supply chain, or SaaS industries.
Extensive experience managing client relationships, from requirement gathering to post-delivery support.
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
- Hands-on experience with project management tools (JIRA, Asana, Trello, MS Project, etc.).
- Familiarity with cloud technologies, microservices, and enterprise-level software architecture.
Knowledge of logistics, supply chain processes, or ERP systems is a strong advantage.
Client-Facing Skills:
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong client management skills with a proven ability to build lasting relationships and ensure client satisfaction.
Ability to negotiate project scope, timelines, and budgets with clients while maintaining alignment with internal objectives.
Leadership & Organizational Skills:
Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams to successful project delivery.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to navigate complex project environments and resolve conflicts between client needs and technical constraints.
Certifications (Preferred):
PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 certification.
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or similar agile certification.
ITIL certification is a plus.
