Job Description

Job Title- Data Engineer

Location- Chennai

About Job:

As a Data Engineer on the POD AggEngine team, you'll work within a focused group of developers while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and product stakeholders. Your role will involve designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable microservices with a strong emphasis on quality and reliability. You'll also be responsible for crafting and optimizing business logic through well-structured SQL queries.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement features in alignment with functional and technical specifications.  Design and maintain unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability.

Document test execution results to support traceability and quality assurance.

Actively participate in daily Scrum ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

Provide ongoing support for the POD AggEngine, addressing inquiries and resolving issues across QA, UAT, and Production environments.

Foster knowledge sharing by mentoring team members and promoting best practices across the engineering team.

Contribute to CI/CD and release coordination activities, participating in rotation-based deployment and release processes.

Qualifications

Tech Stack & Tools: Java, FreeMarker, Snowflake, Shell scripting, Python, Collaboration

Tools: JIRA, Confluence, git

Additional Skills:

Cloud Platform Expertise: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure or familiarity with other major cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP)

Effective Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work seamlessly across cross-functional teams and stakeholders

Analytical Thinking: Proven ability to analyze complex problems and develop data-driven solutions

Applied Quantitative Understanding: Foundational knowledge of mathematical and statistical concepts to interpret technical specifications and translate them into effective implementations.
