Senior Associate, Anaplan Solution Designer

Job Description
Ares Management is seeking a Anaplan model builder 3 in the Investment Data Management & Reporting group, primarily focused on Anaplan implementations, business requirements discovery, model building/maintenance, business intelligence and reporting. This individual will work closely with the senior stakeholders and Technology team to define business priorities, establish solutions and delivery roadmaps, and lead the execution of the said roadmap. This role requires someone with hands-on proficiency with Anaplan implementations and model building. This role requires the candidate to possess strong knowledge of alternative asset management and fund accounting practices. A successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a track record of successful enterprise projects, and the ability to communicate effectively across multiple levels within the organization.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Anaplan Model Development: Assist with the design, build, and maintaince of Anaplan models to support various aspects of Ares business, including cash flows, waterfalls, and KPIs.
• Manage the full life-cycle for Anaplan project management, including requirements, design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance.
• Work closely with business stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective Anaplan solutions.
• Data Integration: Integrate data from various sources into Anaplan, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and reliability. Work with Data teams to reconcile differences with other Ares systems.
• Model Maitninance: Proactively identify opportunities to improve business processes and model optimization, including efficiency gains or risk reduction, as it relates to financial planning and reporting workflows.
• Training and Documentation: Develop training materials and conduct user training to provide guidance to end-users to ensure they can effectively use Anaplan models, while developing and maintaining model and processe documentation.
• Testing and Validation: Conduct rigorous testing and validation of Anaplan models to ensure they meet business requirements and perform as expected.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues in Anaplan models in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Certifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Accounting, or Finance
• Certified Anaplan Model Builder 3, solution architect a plus.
• 3+ years of hands on experience in Anaplan model building and end-to-end Anaplan deployment experience
• Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python, Jira and Confluence a plus
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience Required:
• 3+ years of professional experience in financial modeling and analysis, with at least 2 years of experience in alternative asset management
• 3+ years of recent and relevant hands-on experience with Anaplan implementation and model building
• 1+ years of experience with Business Intelligence and Reporting
• Inherent familiarity with institutional financial planning and fund accounting workflows, including associated data/systems and reporting requirements
• Demonstrated knowledge of formal system implementation and utilization methodology - requirements gathering, design, build/test, and deploy
• Strong understanding of data integrations (upstream/downstream) and governance best practices
• Proven ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with business partners and executives. Seen as a trusted and objective advisor
• Expert communication and presentation skills with the ability and confidence to articulate, present, and debate recommendations
• Hands-on experience with Anaplan is required; Anaplan Certified Model Builder 3 certification is required, solution architect a plus.
• Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Python, Jira and Confluence a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
