Overview As a Kafka Admin, you will play a crucial role in designing, deploying, and maintaining Kafka clusters, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability. Your responsibilities will include optimizing Kafka performance, managing security and access controls, and enabling data replication.Key Responsibilities
  • Designing and deploying Kafka clusters
  • Configuring Kafka brokers and ensuring high availability
  • Monitoring Kafka clusters and performing capacity planning
  • Managing security, access control, and multi-tenancy
  • Implementing data retention policies and disaster recovery procedures
  • Optimizing Kafka performance through configuration and tuning
  • Enabling data replication and ensuring fault tolerance
  • Developing automation scripts for routine tasks
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams for system integration
  • Performing troubleshooting and issue resolution for Kafka-related incidents
  • Conducting regular system audits and implementing best practices
  • Providing technical guidance and support to junior administrators
  • Participating in on-call rotation for 24/7 support
  • Staying updated with Kafka ecosystem developments and trends
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Kafka Administrator or similar role
  • Expertise in deploying and managing Kafka clusters in production environments
  • Strong understanding of Kafka architecture, brokers, topics, partitions, and offsets
  • Proficiency in Kafka monitoring tools and performance tuning
  • In-depth knowledge of Kafka security, authentication, and authorization mechanisms
  • Experience in disaster recovery planning and execution
  • Proficient in writing automation scripts using Shell, Python, or similar languages
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve Kafka-related issues effectively
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Proven track record of implementing best practices and ensuring system reliability
  • Relevant certifications such as Confluent Certified Developer or Administrator
