About the position  

Location: Bengaluru, India

Hybrid 

We are seeking a Finance Master Data Steward to lead the governance and quality of finance-related master data across global systems. This role is essential to ensuring accurate, consistent, and compliant financial data that supports business operations and reporting. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in finance data objects and SAP S/4HANA, and will collaborate with business data owners and process leaders to manage data requests, resolve issues, and implement governance frameworks. By driving data quality initiatives and championing data standards, the steward will play a key role in enhancing financial performance and operational efficiency across the organization.

So, what does it take to be successful in this role? 

As a Master Data Steward, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity, consistency, and governance of finance-related master data across the organization. You'll work independently and collaboratively to:

1. Lead Data Governance Initiatives
   Chair the Finance Master Data Board, set governance standards, and ensure alignment with global data owners and process leaders.

2. Manage and Approve Data Requests
   Review and assess non-standard data requests, provide expert guidance, and recommend alternative solutions to maintain data quality.

3. Resolve Data Issues and Drive Quality
   Mediate escalated data issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement remediation strategies to improve financial data accuracy.

4. Implement Policies and Standards
   Enforce data policies and standards across finance domains, ensuring compliance and consistency in master data usage.

5. Engage Stakeholders and Advocate for Data Excellence
   Partner with business data owners, communicate governance frameworks, and champion the data agenda across teams and geographies.
