Role Overview

As a
Systems Support Engineer,

you will play a key role in strengthening the reliability, security and performance of the FutureKonnect platform. You will provide advanced (L3) technical support while deepening your knowledge in networking, Router OS (MikroTik), Linux systems and operational security. This role offers the unique opportunity to contribute directly to the success of a rapidly scaling, high-impact maritime technology product.

What You Will Do

• Provide L3 technical support for platform incidents and escalations involving system performance, networking, and security.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues with minimal guidance, ensuring minimal downtime and high availability.
• Enhance platform performance by continuously improving systems, automation and configurations.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams - development, networking, UI/UX and cybersecurity - to implement improvements and eliminate root causes.
• Participate in cybersecurity engagements with our maritime clients as you advance in the role.
• Create and maintain internal documentation, troubleshooting playbooks and configuration records.
• Stay current with advancements in networking, Linux administration, maritime connectivity, and cybersecurity to proactively propose optimizations.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

Must-Haves

• MTCNA Mikrotik or CCNA Certification
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (Routing, Switching, OSI/TCP-IP Models, DNS, DHCP)
• Hands-on experience with MikroTik Linux systems administration (Ubuntu/CentOS/RHEL or similar)
• Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, network troubleshooting and monitoring tools
• Ability to independently troubleshoot complex issues in live environments
• Understanding of system performance analysis and logging (e.g., Syslog, journalctl)
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure configurations
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work under pressure in time-critical situations

Nice to Have

• Experience with maritime systems, satellite communication or remote networking environments
• Knowledge of containerisation (Docker), virtualisation (KVM/VMWare), or edge devices
• Exposure to SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanning or penetration testing tools
• Basics of Python/Shell scripting for automation
• Certifications such as CCNA, RHCSA, Security+ (or willingness to pursue them)

Eligibility & Expectations

• Experience Range: 1–3 years (freshers with strong fundamentals may also apply)
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment after initial training period
• Adaptability to take on new responsibilities, including cybersecurity projects as skillsets expand.
