Role Purpose:

To ensure the reliability, security, and optimal performance of the organizations ITinfrastructureincluding servers, storage, networks, and related systems. The Infrastructure and Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining core IT operations, implementing upgrades, monitoring systems, and supporting users and projects that rely on network and infrastructure services.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Infrastructure Management


• Administer and maintain servers (physical and virtual) across Windows Servers.


• Manage virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).


• Perform system updates, patches, and configuration management.


• Oversee data storage solutions, backup systems, and disaster recovery plans.


• Monitor capacity, performance, and availability of infrastructure resources.

2. Network Administration


• Configure and maintain LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, firewalls, routers, and switches.


• Monitor network performance, security, and connectivity.


• Implement network segmentation, VPNs, and secure remote access.


• Troubleshoot network issues and optimize network performance.


• Manage IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and VLAN configurations.

3. Security & Compliance


• Implement and manage security policies, access controls, and encryption.


• Conduct regular system and network audits.


• Monitor for vulnerabilities and respond to incidents.


• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams on compliance (HIPPA, ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, etc.).

4. Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure


• Administer cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, OCI etc.).


• Support hybrid environments integrating on-premise and cloud-based systems.


• Manage identity and access across on-premise and cloud systems (e.g., Entra AD, SSO).

5. Support & Operations


• Provide Level 2/3 technical support for infrastructure and network issues.


• Participate in on-call rotations or emergency response as needed.


• Document system configurations, procedures, and network diagrams.


• Support project implementations, upgrades, and migrations.

Key Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills:


• Networking: TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPNs, VLANs, Wi-Fi, firewalls (Cisco, Fortinet, etc.)


• Systems: Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP


• Virtualization: VMware, Hyper-V, or similar platforms


• Cloud: AWS, Azure, or OCI Cloud administration


• Scripting: PowerShell, Bash, or Python


• Monitoring: Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, PRTG, or similar


• Backup & Recovery: Veeam, Commvault, or similar solutions


• Security: Network hardening, patch management, endpoint security

Soft Skills:


• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities


• Eective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders


• Time management and multitasking in high-pressure environments


• Team collaboration and documentation discipline

Education & Certifications Preferred:


• Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field


• Relevant certifications (one or more of the following):

  • CompTIA Network+ / Security+
  • Cisco CCNA / CCNP
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator / Windows Server
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
  • ITIL Foundation
