Job Description:

 Must have at least 10–12 years of experience in the steel industry.

An AGM/DGM Commercial for Account & Finance job description involves overseeing financial operations, managing accounting departments, and leading strategic financial planning. Key responsibilities include financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, compliance, and internal controls, along with managing and mentoring a team. Qualifications typically require a professional certification like CA, extensive experience (often 7+ years), and strong leadership and analytical skills. 
 
Key responsibilities
  • Financial Management: Supervise daily accounting operations, cash management, and month-end/quarterly/annual closings.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Produce financial reports, conduct financial analysis, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and projections, and monitor budget utilization.
  • Compliance and Audit: Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, manage audits, and establish and maintain internal controls.
  • Taxation: Oversee tax-related activities, including TDS, GST, and income tax, and interact with tax authorities.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting staff, including performance evaluations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Communicate with external stakeholders like bankers and auditors, and coordinate with internal departments. 
 
Required qualifications and skills
  • Education: A professional qualification like Chartered Accountant (CA) is often mandatory, along with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience, with some roles requiring 15+ years, often with experience in sectors like real estate or infrastructure.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (like SAP) and the MS Office suite is expected.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities are crucial for strategic planning and financial analysis.
