AGM / DGM Mechanical (Coke Oven)

Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Mechanical Maintenance Management:
  
  Lead and oversee maintenance and reliability activities for Coke Oven, CDQ, and By-Product Plant equipment including pusher/charging/transfer/quenching cars, compressors, conveyors, crushers, fans, and hydraulic systems. Ensure maximum equipment availability and safe operations to meet production targets.
• Preventive & Predictive Maintenance:
  
  Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs, conduct vibration analysis, lubrication audits, and thermography checks. Analyze breakdown trends, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and initiate corrective actions for long-term reliability improvement.
• Shutdown & Major Overhauls:
  
  Plan, schedule, and execute shutdowns, battery overhauls, and repair activities within time and budget. Coordinate with operations, electrical, instrumentation, and safety departments for integrated execution of maintenance plans.
• Project & Modification Works:
  
  Lead mechanical projects, revamps, and modernization of Coke Oven and CDQ systems. Review engineering drawings, technical specifications, and vendor documents. Supervise erection, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems ensuring performance and reliability.
• Energy Conservation & Cost Optimization:
  
  Implement initiatives to improve energy efficiency and reduce maintenance costs through repair vs. replacement decisions, indigenization, and optimization of spare parts consumption. Drive utilization of waste heat recovery and mechanical efficiency improvements.
• Safety, Health & Environment (SHE):
  
  Ensure strict compliance with mechanical maintenance safety standards, Permit to Work (PTW), and Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and training programs to maintain zero-incident operations. Promote 5S and safe work practices.
• Team Leadership & Development:
  
  Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, supervisors, and technicians. Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and skill enhancement. Conduct regular technical training sessions on maintenance, reliability, and safety.
• Documentation & Reporting:
  
  Maintain updated maintenance records, equipment history cards, inspection reports, and technical documentation. Prepare daily, monthly, and KPI-based MIS reports on equipment performance, breakdown trends, MTBF, and spares utilization.

Preferred candidate profile

Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

Experience:

• AGM: 14-18 years of experience in Coke Oven / Ironmaking / Process Plant Maintenance
• DGM: 18-22 years of experience in Mechanical Maintenance, Reliability, and Project Execution (preferably in an Integrated Steel Plant)
