We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist (NLP Specialist) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will design, develop, fine-tune, and deploy advanced natural language processing (NLP) and large language models to enhance a suite of products, including our story-writing AI assistant and other tools for screenplay development. You will leverage your expertise to improve user experience, automate creative workflows, and drive innovation in storytelling.

Responsibilities:

  • Fine-tune and deploy open-source large language models (LLMs) like GPT-2/3, Llama, or similar to create tailored solutions for Mugafi's products.
  • Develop and optimize prompts using models from OpenAI, Claude, etc., based on the product requirements.
  • Implement and optimize algorithms for text generation, sentiment analysis, and entity recognition.
  • Work with large datasets, ensuring data quality through preprocessing and augmentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to integrate AI solutions into our platform.
  • Continuously stay updated with the latest advancements in NLP and machine learning technologies.
  • Optimize model performance and scalability on cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
  • Conduct A/B testing and other evaluations to ensure the effectiveness of NLP models in real-world applications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of proven experience working with NLP-based projects(especially text generation and LLMs).
  • Experience with NLP frameworks such as Hugging Face Transformers, spaCy, , etc.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn. Cuda programming experience is a plus.
  • Experience with text generation models and sequence-to-sequence models.
  • Expertise in Prompt engineering.
  • Proficiency in Curating dataset for fine-tuning open-source LLMs and crafting effective prompts for OpenAI models, Claude, etc.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) for deploying machine learning models.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a collaborative mindset.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
