Description

Roles & responsibilities

Responsible for applying an understanding of the applicable independence rules and regulations in executing testing procedures, including standard operating procedures, that contribute to providing basic guidance to field professionals/partners on the application of firm policy and regulatory rules, and in providing entry-level guidance directly on the application of such policy and rules in an area that requires limited judgment

Assist in maintaining the personal independence standards and/or routine in accordance with personal independence standards or firm policy


—Assist in maintaining the personal independence standards and/or routine in accordance with personal independence professional standards or firm policy

—Perform personal independence compliance testing procedures to assess the financial investments and relationships of professionals and their adherence to firm policies and regulatory requirements

—Perform research, analyze data, make rule-based decisions and determinations, and document the work performed and results to support conclusions

—Ensure the work is performed with high quality and completed within agreed turnaround time and communicate work request status effectively to all seniors/stakeholders

—Escalate immediately, any issues identified to the GDC Seniors, so that the quality and turnaround time are not impacted

—Use tools and techniques to perform Independence related checks for performing compliance testing activities

—Actively get involved on business and Independence specific knowledge development initiatives at GDC and assist with special projects, as needed

Train new team members and be available for questions; update training materials as required

Mandatory  technical & functional skills



•Fast learner with the ability to understand and grasp new systems, methodologies, technology, and tools

•Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel

•Review work product of more junior team members, provide feedback and support skill development

Key behavioral attributes/requirements



•Willingness and capability to deliver under tight deadlines

•Capable of handling sensitive and confidential matters with tact and discretion

•Strong problem-solving skills, organization, and ability to apply independent judgment

•Highly organized; ability to operate efficiently and with limited oversight in a fast-paced work environment with high work volume

•Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to details and documentation standards

Personable - ability to build professional working relationships with team members, engagement teams, support staff and with the wider KPMG network

Qualifications

Educational qualifications



•Post-Graduation from an accredited college or university (MBA/M. Com)

Work experience



•2-4 years of experience with risk management role preferably in a big 4 or equivalent organizations
