Role Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Senior iOS / tvOS Developer with strong Swift experience, who deeply understands video streaming, can design and build apps from the ground up, and can drive technical decisions, mentoring, and release management for our Apple platform apps.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-quality iOS and tvOS applications using Swift, from architecture to deployment.

• Own the video streaming experience – work with AVPlayer or custom players, integrate HLS, DRM (FairPlay), subtitles, offline downloads, and playback analytics.

• Optimise app performance – reduce crashes and ANRs, profile startup time, memory usage, and rendering performance.

• Collaborate closely with design to translate UX/UI into reusable, scalable components across iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV.

• Manage release and build configurations – schemes, configurations, provisioning profiles, signing, and App Store / tvOS Store submissions.

• Work with cross-platform teams and help port features between native iOS and other platforms where required.

• Mentor junior engineers, perform code reviews, and help define iOS best practices within the team.

• Partner with Product, Backend, DevOps, and QA to ship reliable, high-quality releases on time.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on iOS development experience with Swift (Objective-C is a plus).

• Proven track record of building and shipping production iOS apps end-to-end.

• Strong understanding of video streaming concepts – HLS, ABR, buffering, latency, and CDN usage.

• Hands-on experience with AVPlayer or custom video players, including subtitles/closed captions, PiP, AirPlay, and casting integrations.

• Experience building for tvOS / Apple TV – focus on remote navigation, focus engine, and TV-specific UX patterns.

• Strong debugging capability using Xcode tools (Instruments, Memory Graph, Time Profiler, Network, Logs).

• Solid understanding of iOS architecture patterns (MVVM/MVC/VIPER/Clean Architecture) and Apple's frameworks (UIKit, SwiftUI, Combine where applicable).

• Experience with release management, multiple environments, TestFlight distribution, and App Store submissions.

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for iOS (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Bitrise, etc.).

• Ability to lead small teams, drive technical decisions, and work with minimal supervision.

• Excellent communication skills and a self-motivated, ownership-driven mindset.

Nice to Have

• Experience with analytics and observability – Firebase, AppCenter, or custom event tracking for streaming KPIs.

• Knowledge of offline-first features – encrypted downloads, background tasks, and sync strategies.

• Experience integrating with cross-platform frameworks (React Native / Flutter) and bridging native modules.

• Understanding of backend APIs (REST/GraphQL), authentication flows, and working with streaming backends/CMS.
• Previous experience in OTT, media, or live streaming products. Soft Skills & Behaviour
