We are looking for an experienced
API Developer
with strong expertise in
Java/J2EE
,
Spring Boot
, and
REST/SOAP API development
. The role focuses on designing and developing secure, scalable, API-based digital solutions following SOA principles and API best-practice frameworks (OpenAPI, Swagger, TM Forum).

The ideal candidate will have strong backend integration skills, hands-on experience developing enterprise-grade APIs, and proficiency working with Oracle databases and scripting. Experience with API management frameworks such as
Apigee
is a plus.

This role requires the ability to work independently, collaborate with distributed teams, integrate with internal systems and external partners, and deliver components within expected timelines.

Roles & Responsibilities

API Design & Development

  • Develop RESTful and SOAP APIs following SOA, OpenAPI, and TM Forum standards.
  • Build API specifications using
    Swagger
    /
    OpenAPI
    .
  • Work on end-to-end design, development, implementation, and deployment of API-based digital solutions.

Backend & Integration

  • Integrate APIs with internal backend systems and external partners.
  • Work with
    XML, JSON, WSDL, MQ
    , SMPP, and other integration protocols.
  • Develop Java/J2EE-based backend components using
    Spring Boot
    .

Security & Best Practices

  • Implement secure APIs using
    OAuth2
    , JWT, and industry security standards.
  • Follow best practices for code quality, data security, and API lifecycle management.

Database & Scripting

  • Develop SQL scripts and work extensively with
    Oracle relational databases
    .
  • Utilize UNIX and shell scripting for automation and system-level integration.

Tools, Frameworks & Dev Practices

  • Use build tools such as
    Maven
    and
    Gradle
    .
  • Hands-on experience with API management tools (Apigee preferred).

Collaboration & Delivery

  • Work independently and collaborate with cross-functional, remote teams.
  • Support timely delivery of assigned components and integration tasks.

Technical Skills

  • Strong experience with
    Java, J2EE, Spring Boot
  • REST & SOAP APIs, Swagger/OpenAPI, XML/JSON, MQ, SMPP
  • API standards (OpenAPI, TM Forum)
  • API Management (Apigee – preferred)
  • OAuth2, JWT, API security
  • Oracle Database, SQL development
  • UNIX, shell scripting
  • Microservices architecture (added advantage)
  • Telecom domain knowledge (OSS/BSS/SIEBEL) — optional

Education

  • Engineering degree in
    Telecom / Electronics / Computer Science
    or equivalent.

Experience

  • Total Experience:
    4–6 years
  • Relevant API development:
    4+ years
