Role
We are seeking an accomplished academic leader to serve as the Chief Academic Officer (CAO) for our Data Science Training Institute. The CAO will be responsible for shaping the academic vision, ensuring curriculum excellence, and maintaining the highest standards of teaching, learning, and student success. The ideal candidate will combine deep expertise in data science with proven leadership in academic administration and a strong passion for education.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Development
- Collaborate with the Academic Advisory Committee and Marketing team to design and develop comprehensive data science programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Ensure curriculum aligns with industry trends, emerging technologies, and global best practices.
Faculty Recruitment & Development
- Lead the recruitment and selection of highly qualified faculty members in data science.
- Provide mentorship, training, and professional development to enhance teaching quality and academic performance.
Quality Assurance & Academic Excellence
- Establish robust quality assurance mechanisms, including assessment frameworks and continuous improvement processes.
- Maintain academic rigor and ensure positive student outcomes.
Student Engagement & Success
- Foster a student-centric culture of innovation, learning, and career readiness.
- Oversee initiatives for student support, retention, and professional growth.
- Provide academic counselling and guidance when required.
Industry Collaboration
- Build partnerships with industry leaders, employers, and professional bodies to enhance experiential learning, internships, and placement opportunities.
- Organize guest lectures, networking events, and industry workshops.
Research & Innovation
- Promote faculty research, interdisciplinary projects, and scholarly contributions to advance knowledge in data science education.
Budget & Resource Management
- Manage the academic budget in coordination with the finance team, ensuring optimal allocation of resources for faculty, students, and academic initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
Education:
- PhD/Doctorate in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or related discipline.
Experience:
- 20–30 years of proven academic leadership and experience in data science research, teaching, and industry collaboration.
Skills & Expertise:
- Demonstrated success in academic administration, curriculum design, and faculty management.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and data science tools/frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
- Expertise in event and program management, project management, and decision-making.
- Familiarity with the EdTech sector and online learning platforms.
- Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS).
