Core responsibilities
- Dish preparation: Prepare ingredients, which may include weighing, measuring, and chopping vegetables and other items, as well as cutting and marinating meats.
- Cooking: Cook a wide range of Chinese and Indian dishes, including starters, main courses, sauces, and fried rice, using various cooking methods like frying, grilling, and steaming.
- Quality control: Ensure all food items are fresh, that meals meet the required quality and presentation standards, and that established recipes are followed consistently.
- Kitchen management: Set up workstations, monitor stock levels, place orders for shortages, and store ingredients and other items properly.
- Hygiene and safety: Maintain a sanitized and orderly kitchen environment and comply with all food safety and hygiene regulations.
