Job Description – Upholstery Head of Department (HOD)

Position Title: HOD – Upholstery

Department: Upholstery

Reporting To: Factory Head / Production Head

Location: Gurugram

Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Objective:

To lead and oversee the entire upholstery division, ensuring smooth operations, consistent product quality, efficient manpower management, and coordination with design, production, and dispatch departments to achieve company goals.

Key Responsibilities:

· Plan, organize, and control the upholstery department's daily and weekly production schedules.

· Manage workforce allocation, skill development, and performance of upholsterers and supervisors.

· Ensure quality standards are maintained for all upholstered furniture as per design specifications.

· Coordinate with the design, carpentry, polishing, and dispatch departments for workflow synchronization.

· Monitor raw material (foam, fabric, leather, adhesive, etc.) stock and consumption levels.

· Implement process improvements to reduce rework, wastage, and production delays.

· Review production reports, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective measures.

· Maintain workplace safety and discipline within the department.

· Conduct periodic training for staff on modern upholstery techniques and quality control.

· Support management in budgeting, manpower planning, and vendor coordination related to upholstery materials.

· Ability to handle multiple projects and tight deadlines.

Qualification & Experience:

Diploma / Degree in Furniture Technology or related trade.

8–15 years of experience in furniture manufacturing, including leadership of upholstery operations.

Pay: ₹45, ₹80,000.00 per month
