Your Opportunity
At Movius, we are looking for a Senior Observability Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of our observability stack across hybrid environments — including IBM Data Centers, AWS, and IBM Cloud.
In this role, you will ensure visibility, reliability, and performance across systems built on Kubernetes, Kafka, VM-based architectures, and managed data services. You'll collaborate with Software Engineers, SREs, and Service Reliability Owners (SROs) to develop best-in-class monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions that drive proactive detection and faster resolution of incidents.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement end-to-end observability solutions across cloud and on-premise environments.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, alerts, and telemetry pipelines for real-time monitoring.
- Integrate observability tools with Kubernetes, Kafka, and VM-based deployments.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to instrument applications for metrics, logs, and traces.
- Drive adoption of observability best practices in monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing.
- Lead incident analysis and postmortem reviews to strengthen system reliability.
- Evaluate, select, and implement tools for log aggregation, metrics collection, and visualization.
- Ensure observability systems are scalable, secure, reliable, and cost-optimized.
What You Bring
- 7+ years of experience in Observability, Monitoring, or SRE roles.
- Hands-on expertise in tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/EFK Stack, OpenTelemetry, or Datadog.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes, Kafka, and VM-based infrastructures.
- Experience working in hybrid cloud environments (AWS, IBM Cloud).
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash) for automation and tooling.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems and microservices architectures.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices.
- Excellent collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in incident response and on-call rotations.
- Working knowledge of Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and error budgets.
- Awareness of security and compliance considerations in observability.
- Exposure to APM tools like New Relic, AppDynamics, or Dynatrace.
Why Join Movius
- Be part of a culture built on shared ownership, transparency, and continuous improvement.
- Work with a team that encourages you to identify gaps, propose solutions, and drive change.
- Collaborate cross-functionally — because observability is a team sport.
- Grow in a high-trust, feedback-driven environment that values learning and innovation.
- Contribute to our mission of achieving operational excellence and exceptional customer impact.
