Requirements and responsibilities

We are seeking a Principal Architect specializing in Data Streaaming Streaming and Cloud Solutions with strong consulting experience and a track record of success in client-facing roles. You will provide strategic guidance, lead client engagements, and design transformative solutions that drive measurable business impact. You will collaborate closely with our sales and business development teams in early project stages to shape solutions and proposals, and then engage directly with senior client stakeholders to ensure our approach aligns with their vision.

What you'll do 

• Advise clients on strategic technical decisions, develop and present best practices.
  
• Lead Discovery engagements to assess a client's existing workloads, infrastructure & software environments.
  
• Partner with sales and business development teams during pre-sales and discovery phases to craft solution approaches, estimate scope, and ensure proposals are technically sound and aligned with client needs.
  
• Develop target state infra/application architecture and chart a path to delivery for a wide variety of use cases.
  
• Advise and direct delivery/implementation teams engaged in digital transformation and cloud migrations.
  
• Able to engage with clients at Pre-sales stages.
  
• Assess competing technologies to make best-fit recommendations for clients.
  
• Be immersed in a continual learning environment, adopting new techniques, patterns, and tools.
  
• Complete certifications and accreditations, advancing your technical skills and overall career.

What you'll bring 

• Consulting Experience: Proven track record in client-facing consulting roles. Demonstrated ability to engage directly with senior stakeholders and executives to define strategies and solutions.
  
• Experience working alongside sales or business development teams to shape engagements – whether by contributing to RFP responses, crafting proposals, or presenting technical content in sales meetings.
  
• Technical Expertise: Deep, hands-on knowledge of Cloud technologies and platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Messaging/Streaming technologies, Data-stores/Databases, Application/API design, Internet and Networking
• Protocols, Security Architecture, Version Control Systems, and CI/CD tools. 
  
• Deep experience with several of the following platforms: Kafka, Flink, Spark, Kubernetes, API Gateways, and messaging systems (Tibco, IBM MQ, and open-source variants); 
  
• Deep familiarity with data streaming, integration patterns, and how they can be best utilized to deliver feature velocity, improve data security, reduce data processing timelines and resource efficiency; 
  
• Leadership Skills: Ability to work independently, translating high-level goals into measurable milestones and delivering results. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with experience in executive-level discussions. 
  
• Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience. 
  
• Communication: Ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation, proposals, and presentations. 
  
• Customer-Centricity: Proven ability to build trust, prioritize client needs, and maintain strong relationships.  
  
• Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking skills to evaluate challenges and identify effective solutions, even under tight deadlines. 
  
• Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, bridging gaps between technical and business stakeholders. 
  
• Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust to dynamic client needs, evolving technologies, and competing priorities. 
  
• Influence: Skilled at persuading stakeholders to adopt best-fit solutions and handling conflicts diplomatically. 
  
• Time Management: Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines without compromising quality.  
  
• Continuous Learning: Proactive mindset to stay updated on industry trends, tools, and methodologies to deliver forward-thinking solutions.

Additional & Preferred Skills

• Experience with large-scale cloud deployments on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or OpenStack. 
  
• Proven experience in planning and executing cloud migration projects, including application modernization and workload prioritization. 
  
• Familiarity with multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments. 
  
• Background in developing strategic roadmaps and translating technical requirements into business outcomes. 
  
• Some form of programming experience is highly desired. 
  
• Excellent written and verbal English communication and presentation skills. 
  
• Experience leading workshops or discovery sessions with senior stakeholders. 
  
• Strong understanding of enterprise IT landscapes, including legacy systems and modern cloud-native approaches. 
  
• Interacting directly with clients and senior executives in an advisory or consulting capacity.
  
• Streaming Data, Event-Driven Architecture, Micro-services, distributed compute/processing systems.
  
• Containerization technologies and best practices, especially Kubernetes;
  
• Experience working in globally distributed teams.
