Job Title: HR Assistant / HR Officer - Payroll, Statutory Compliance & Contractor Billing

Department: Human Resources

Reports To: HR Manager / Finance & HR Head

Job Summary:

The HR Assistant will manage employee payroll, statutory compliance (PF, ESI), and contractor billing. This role ensures accurate salary processing, timely statutory contributions, and smooth management of payments to contractors while maintaining compliance with company policies and labor laws.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Payroll & Benefits:

  • Process monthly employee payroll accurately and on time.
  • Maintain and update salary structure, deductions, and allowances.
  • Prepare salary slips, bonus calculations, and other payroll-related reports.
  • Track leave, overtime, and attendance for payroll accuracy.

2. Statutory Compliance (PF & ESI):

  • Register employees with PF and ESI authorities and maintain updated records.
  • Ensure timely deposits and submission of PF and ESI contributions.
  • Prepare and file monthly/quarterly returns for PF and ESI.
  • Respond to employee queries regarding PF, ESI, and other statutory benefits.

3. Contractor Management & Billing:

  • Maintain records of all contractors and outsourced staff.
  • Verify attendance, invoices, and work completion for contractors.
  • Process monthly contractor bills accurately and coordinate with accounts for payment.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws for contractors and outsourced staff.

4. HR Administration:

  • Maintain employee records, HR files, and database.
  • Assist in onboarding and exit formalities for employees and contractors.
  • Support HR reporting, audits, and statutory inspections.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor-s degree in Human Resources, Commerce, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 1-5 years of experience in payroll, statutory compliance (PF, ESI), and contractor billing.
  • Knowledge of labor laws, PF, ESI, and contractor regulations.
