Role: Software Support Engineer / IT System Administrator
Job Summary
The IT/System Administrator – Help Desk is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows servers, as well as managing identity, access, backup, and security controls. The role supports IT operations in a telecom broadband fiber environment, ensuring system reliability, data security, and efficient handling of escalated technical issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Server Management
Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers and core IT infrastructure.
Apply patches, updates, and system upgrades to ensure stability and security.
Manage server roles including AD, DNS, DHCP, file services, and related components.
- Identity & Access Control
Implement and manage Active Directory, user accounts, access rights, and security groups.
Enforce role-based access control (RBAC) and ensure compliance with telecom security standards.
Perform periodic access reviews and audit checks.
- Backup & Recovery
Schedule and manage regular system and data backups.
Test and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Ensure data integrity and compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Help Desk & Technical Support
Provide Level 2 support for escalated desktop, server, and application-related issues.
Troubleshoot server outages, performance issues, and application deployment challenges.
Collaborate with network, security, and application teams for system support.
- Monitoring & Reporting
Monitor server health, storage, performance, and security logs using standard tools.
Generate reports on server uptime, backup status, incidents, and resolutions.
Identify recurring issues and implement preventive measures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
Professional certifications preferred: MCSA/MCSE, ITIL Foundation.
3–5 years of experience in system administration and IT help desk support.
Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and security principles.
Experience with ticketing systems, patch management, and IT operations processes.
Familiarity with telecom OSS/BSS systems and telecom compliance standards (preferred).
Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹9, ₹44,130.81 per month
