We are adding to our team with the recruitment of an Independence Program Manager. We are seeking a

highly motivated individual with a passion for helping disadvantaged young women.

Job Title – Independence Program Manager

Classification – 40 hours per week (full-time), flexible hours

Reports to – Board of Baale Mane Trust

Salary - Competitive NGO salary based on applicant's level of experience, including travel expenses.

We are looking for a responsible woman who is seeking grass-roots field experience working with the team at Baale Mane to bring alive the rights of girl children and to resource them to live sustainable, independent lives. The Independence Program Manager will be working closely with young women aged 18 – 25 years, living in the city and alumni who passed through Baale Mane.

The role would require a responsible and dependable individual who will oversee programs, supporting the Independence Girls by monitoring attendance and performance at college and in work and following the emotional and physical well-being of the young women. The candidate will also be responsible for managing accounts, coordinating with the girls' accommodation providers, dealing with personal and private information, documentation, report writing and decision making.

Ideally, the applicant will be:

  • Passionate about child rights, especially issues such as girls & women's empowerment and education.
  • Able to visit the girls in their accommodation and colleges, which are based in various locations around Bangalore.
  • Able to regularly visit the Baale Mane home (at least once a week).
  • Self-sufficient in travelling (either by public transport or own mode of transport).
  • Fluent in Kannada and English.

Ideally, the applicant will have:

  • 3+ years' experience in program coordination and facilitation and/or working directly with young people from difficult backgrounds.
  • The ability to guide and mentor young women.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a high level of IT skills for documentation, emails, and reporting.
  • The ability to take initiative in their work and make strong decisions.
  • Ability to network, and form relationships with other NGOs, Corporates and organisations that will help develop the Independence Program.
