Intelligent Automation Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Involved in end-to-end delivery of intelligent automation projects, from requirements gathering and solution design to development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
• Collaborate with business analysts, process owners, and IT teams to identify automation opportunities and translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Design and develop automation solutions using MCP, Python, TypeScript, and Azure AI services, ensuring integration with enterprise systems and data platforms.
• Establish and enforce best practices in AI development, including code quality, reusability, security, and compliance with governance standards.
• Mentor junior developers and help increase the adoption of AI technologies and methodologies
• Adhere to project timelines ensuring alignment with project objectives and benefit realisation.
• Conduct code reviews, solution walkthroughs, and technical workshops to build capability within the team and across the CoE.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, including solution designs, technical specifications, and support guides.
• Engage with external partners, vendors, and industry forums to bring in best practices and market intelligence.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Software Engineering: Strong foundation in software development, including experience with Python, TypeScript, and cloud-native architectures (especially Azure, but adaptable to open-source stacks).
• Platform/Infrastructure Engineering: Ability to understand the foundational infrastructure for agent orchestration, deployment, and monitoring.
• API Development & Integration: Expertise in designing and integrating APIs to enable agents to interact with internal and external systems.
• Agentic AI / MCP Understanding: Knowledge of Model Context Protocol (MCP) and agentic design principles, including multi-capability prompting and autonomous decision-making.
• AI/ML Integration: Experience integrating AI/ML models into agentic workflows, including leveraging Azure AI services (Azure Machine Learning, Cognitive Services) and open-source AI frameworks.
• Process Orchestration: Familiarity with BPMN-based process modelling, execution, and monitoring; understanding of how to coordinate multiple agents and automation tools for end-to-end orchestration
• AI Governance: Understanding of responsible AI (RAI) principles, compliance, and risk management in enterprise environments.
• Security & Privacy: Ability to design solutions that comply with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements, especially in financial services.
• Openness to New Tech: Willingness to adopt and integrate new technologies, frameworks, and vendor-agnostic solutions.
• Collaboration & Communication : Effective communication skills to work with business users, architects, and cross-functional teams. Ability to document technical solutions and provide training/support to end users.

Experience

• 6–8 years of experience in software development, with at least recent 2 years focused on agentic AI or AI solutions delivery.
• Proven track record of delivering end-to-end agentic AI projects using (but not limited to) MCP, Python and Azure AI components in complex, matrixed environments.
• Demonstrated experience integrating automation solutions with AI/ML models and cloud services.
• Exposure to regulated environments with a strong focus on security and compliance.
• Experience engaging with external vendors, consultants, and industry forums
