Job Description

Role-Senior Manager/Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sourcing and Planning:
    • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with business goals and production needs.
    • Analyze market trends for critical battery materials to forecast price fluctuations and availability, mitigating risk.
    • Plan and forecast material demands to ensure a stable supply for production, avoiding stockouts or over-stocking.
  • Supplier Management and Negotiation:
    • Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and ethical sourcing practices.
    • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms and conditions with vendors to secure advantageous deals and ensure the best value for money.
    • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers to ensure consistent material flow and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Quality and Compliance:
    • Collaborate closely with the quality control team to establish quality benchmarks for all purchased materials and ensure compliance with industry standards.
    • Conduct supplier audits and factory inspections to verify adherence to quality and regulatory requirements.
    • Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant local and international regulations, including import/customs laws and environmental standards.
  • Inventory and Logistics Management:
    • Oversee inventory levels of raw materials and components to optimize working capital and support smooth production schedules.
    • Coordinate and expedite the delivery of materials, working with freight forwarders and logistics teams to minimize delays.
  • Cost Control and Risk Management:
    • Monitor and control procurement costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
    • Perform risk assessments for supply contracts and develop contingency plans (e.g., supplier diversification) to prevent supply chain disruptions.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Track and report key performance metrics (KPIs) related to spending, supplier performance, and cost savings to senior management.
    • Utilize procurement software and ERP systems to analyze data and streamline purchasing workflows.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Lead and motivate the procurement team, providing training and setting clear departmental goals.
    • Liaise with internal departments such as production, engineering, finance, and quality control to align procurement strategies with overall business objectives.
