About the Role

We are seeking a
Senior QA Engineer
who will take end-to-end ownership of product quality across our SaaS platform. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a
hands-on manual testing environment
today but also brings the
vision and curiosity to lead future transition toward automation
.

You will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and fellow QA team to ensure every release meets the highest standards of reliability, usability, and performance. Over time, you'll play a key role in shaping our QA automation roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

• Manual Testing Excellence
• Design, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans, test cases, and regression suites for web-based applications and APIs.
• Identify, report, and track defects using tools like JIRA, ensuring timely closure and retesting.
• Perform end-to-end functional, regression, negative, and exploratory testing.
• Conduct sanity, smoke, performance, and usability testing for new releases.
• Validate data integrity across systems using SQL queries and backend checks.

Process Ownership

• Strengthen QA documentation, maintain detailed test artefacts, and drive consistency in test processes.
• Partner with developers and product teams during story grooming and sprint planning to ensure requirements are testable and risks are identified early.
• Contribute to test strategy, release readiness, and quality metrics tracking.
• Participate in root cause analysis and preventive action planning.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Contribute to process improvements that enhance test coverage, speed, and quality.
• Stay current on testing trends, tools, and emerging QA practices to bring new ideas to the team.
• Experiment with writing basic automation scripts (Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress) to establish proof-of-concepts.

Required Skills & Experience

• 4-6 years of experience in
  manual testing
  of web or SaaS-based applications.
• Strong understanding of
  SDLC
  ,
  STLC
  , and QA methodologies.
• Hands-on experience in
  test planning, test case design, defect management, and regression testing
  .
• Proficiency in
  SQL
  and database validation.
• Experience with tools such as
  JIRA
  ,
  Git
  , or similar platforms.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
• Exposure to automation tools (e.g.,
  Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or JMeter
  ) or demonstrated interest in learning and implementing automation.
• Familiarity with
  Agile/Scrum
  methodologies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with cross-functional collaboration experience.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Basic understanding of test automation frameworks (JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber, etc.).
• Exposure to
  API testing
  (using Postman or REST Assured).
• Experience in
  performance/load testing
  tools such as JMeter or Locust.
• Prior experience in a
  SaaS or product-based organization
  , preferably a start-up.
