Job Title: Purchase Executive

Job Summary-The Purchase Executive is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process for raw materials, packaging, and other supplies required for the company's pharmaceutical manufacturing operations. This role is crucial for ensuring a steady supply of high-quality, cost-effective materials while maintaining strict compliance with regulatory and company standards. The ideal candidate is a skilled negotiator with strong analytical abilities and excellent vendor management experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
Key Responsibilities Vendor and Supplier Management
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify potential suppliers for raw materials, packaging materials, and general supplies based on cost, quality, and reliability.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors to secure favorable agreements and achieve cost savings.
- Develop and maintain strong, strategic relationships with new and existing suppliers to ensure a consistent and reliable supply chain.
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and audits to ensure compliance with quality certifications, delivery schedules, and contractual agreements.
Purchasing and Inventory Management
- Process purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate with the production and quality assurance (QA/QC) teams to forecast demand and ensure timely availability of materials.
- Track and expedite purchase orders to prevent production delays and monitor delivery status.
- Manage inventory levels to optimize stock and minimize carrying costs and waste.
- Analyze purchasing data, trends, and spending patterns to identify cost-saving opportunities and report on procurement activities.
Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all procured materials and vendors comply with regulatory requirements, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
- Collaborate with the Quality Control department to resolve any issues related to material quality or non-conformance.
- Maintain meticulous documentation of all procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and audit trails.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a procurement or purchasing role, with at least some experience in the pharmaceutical or FMCG a similarly regulated industry.
Skills:
Proven negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Proficiency with procurement software and ERP systems.
