Key responsibilities
- Guest service: Greet guests warmly, assist with seating and reservations, ensure prompt and courteous service, and thank them as they leave.
- Operations management: Oversee daily dining room operations, manage table assignments and reservations, and coordinate with the kitchen to ensure a smooth service flow.
- Staff supervision: Lead, train, and motivate servers and other service staff to ensure they follow standards and provide excellent service.
- Order management: Take orders, check them for accuracy, and ensure food is served in a timely and presentable manner.
- Problem resolution: Address and resolve guest complaints, concerns, and special requests promptly and tactfully.
- Quality control: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation in the dining area and monitor adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Menu expertise: Have a thorough knowledge of the menu and be able to answer questions and make recommendations to guests.
- Sales: Promote and upsell menu items, beverages, and special promotions to maximize revenue.
