Job Description:

An AutoCAD/Machine Design Assistant job description involves supporting design teams by creating, editing, and managing technical drawings and 2D/3D models using AutoCAD, ensuring designs meet project specifications and industry standards, and maintaining organized project files. Key responsibilities include collaborating with engineers and designers, revising drawings based on feedback, performing calculations, ensuring accuracy, and sometimes assisting with administrative tasks related to design projects. 

Key Responsibilities

  • 2D/3D Modeling:
    Create and modify detailed mechanical drawings, schematics, and 3D models using AutoCAD and other relevant software. 


  • Drawing Management:
    Maintain organized drawing files, documentation, and project libraries, ensuring proper version control and adherence to company CAD standards. 


  • Technical Support:
    Assist senior designers and engineers in developing concepts and turning them into tangible design documents. 


  • Collaboration:
    Work with engineers, project managers, and other cross-functional teams to integrate design components and incorporate feedback. 


  • Quality Assurance:
    Ensure the accuracy and functionality of designs, checking for precision, adherence to specifications, and compliance with industry standards. 


  • Administrative Support:
    Help prepare presentations, materials for client meetings, and manage project timelines and deadlines as needed. 


  • Research:
    Conduct research on design trends, materials, and best practices to stay current in the industry. 



Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical Skills:
    Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant design software (e.g., Autodesk 3ds Max, Revit). 


  • Drafting Knowledge:
    Understanding of drafting conventions, including dimensioning, scaling, and drawing templates. 


  • Attention to Detail:
    A high level of precision and accuracy is crucial for creating reliable technical drawings. 


  • Problem-Solving:
    Ability to identify design challenges and propose effective solutions. 


  • Collaboration & Communication:
    Strong teamwork and communication skills for effective collaboration with design teams and other stakeholders.
