Gandhi Engineering College, Bhubaneswar, is looking for a Freelance (Part-Time/Contract) Faculty/Trainer to handle the Server-Side Scripting (PHP + Laravel) course for B.Tech students ). The role involves teaching core PHP (syntax, OOP, forms, MySQL) and Laravel (MVC, routing, Blade, Eloquent, validation, CSRF, CRUD) with a strong focus on practical, application-oriented learning in line with the prescribed syllabus.

Role & responsibilities

  • Deliver clear and structured lectures on core PHP: syntax, variables, operators, control structures, functions, arrays, and strings.

    • Teach OOP in PHP including classes, objects, properties, methods, constructors, inheritance, and exception handling.

    • Guide students in PHP - MySQL integration: database connections, basic DML operations (INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, SELECT) and query parameter handling.

    • Teach HTML form handling: GET/POST methods, server-side validation, and managing multiple inputs (checkbox, radio, dropdown).

    • Introduce and explain Laravel framework concepts: features, MVC architecture, directory structure, routing (GET/POST, route parameters, named routes).

    • Conduct sessions on Blade templating: views, nested views, passing data, Blade expressions, and basic layouts.

    • Guide students through Laravel form processing: request handling, form submissions, validation, old input, validation errors, flash data, and CSRF protection.

    • Teach Eloquent ORM: models, migrations, database configuration, query builder basics, and performing CRUD operations.

    • Prepare and evaluate assignments, mini-projects, and assessments aligned with course outcomes.
  • Support students in building small, real-world style web applications using PHP and Laravel.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Educational Qualifications:

  • B.Tech with strong industry experience in PHP & Laravel (for trainer role)

Technical Skills:

  • Strong proficiency in Core PHP: syntax, control structures, functions, arrays, string handling.
  • Good understanding of OOP in PHP and exception handling.
  • Practical experience in PHPMySQL web application development.
  • Hands-on expertise in Laravel: setup, MVC architecture, routing, controllers, Blade templates, middleware, and form handling.
  • Experience with Laravel validation, CSRF protection, migrations, models, and Eloquent ORM CRUD operations.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Prior teaching / training experience with engineering or MCA students.

    • Ability to design lab exercises and mini-projects using PHP + Laravel.
