Job Description – CSSD Incharge

• Supervise overall operations of the Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD), ensuring smooth workflow and compliance with hospital standards.
• Oversee cleaning, packing, sterilization, and distribution of all surgical instruments, linen, and equipment.
• Ensure proper functioning of sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, ETO machines, ultrasonic washers, and dryers.
• Maintain sterilization records, logs, and reports as per NABH and hospital guidelines.
• Monitor stock levels of CSSD consumables and place timely indents to avoid shortage.
• Implement and follow infection control protocols, ensuring zero compromise on sterile standards.
• Train and guide CSSD staff on proper handling, sterilization techniques, and safety procedures.
• Coordinate with OT, ICU, wards, and other departments for timely supply of sterile items.
• Conduct routine quality checks on instrument sets and packaged items to ensure sterility integrity.
• Report machine issues to biomedical/maintenance teams and ensure timely repairs and preventive maintenance.
