Responsibilities:

1. Functional Testing (FT):

• Design, develop, and execute functional test cases based on product requirements.
• Ensure test coverage is comprehensive for all functional requirements.
• Identify, report, and track defects to closure.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and resolve issues.
• Perform regression and integration testing to ensure product stability.

2. API Testing:

• Perform manual API testing to validate functionality, basic performance, and security basic checks.
• Develop and execute test cases for RESTful APIs and web services.
• Use tools like Postman, SoapUI, or similar for API testing.
• Verify response status codes, data validation, and error handling in APIs.
• Analyze API documentation for test case preparation and coverage.

3. SQL Testing:

• Write queries to validate data in the database.
• Ensure data consistency and integrity through database validation.
• Perform data-driven testing and data migration validation.
• Work with the development team to ensure that database requirements are correctly implemented.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SQL queries and database testing.

4. General Testing Skills:

• Contribute to the creation of test strategies, plans, and timelines.
• Continuously improve testing processes for higher efficiency.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders for smooth testing cycles.
• Mentor junior testers and share best practices.
• Stay updated on the latest testing tools and technologies.

Required Technical Skills:

• Proven experience in functional testing, including designing, developing, and executing test cases.
• Strong understanding of API testing, with experience in testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman or SoapUI.
• Proficiency in writing and executing SQL queries for database validation and data integrity checks.
• Ability to identify, report, and track defects to closure using issue-tracking tools.
• Experience performing regression and integration testing to ensure product stability.
• Familiarity with test strategies, planning, and improving testing processes.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve testing-related issues.
• Ability to collaborate with developers, business analysts, and cross-functional teams.
• Experience mentoring junior testers and sharing best practices.
• Knowledge of the latest testing tools, technologies, and industry trends.

Location & Hours:

• Can work remotely anywhere in India (most of our Portal Engineering team live in India)
• Hours: 2:30-11:30pm IST (ending at 2pm ET)

Comp Structure & Benefits:

• Comp structure: fixed (inclusive of PF, Gratuity, and a 25k INR medical premium) + a target annual bonus that is approximately 10% of the gross annual earnings.
