Job Description:

An automotive mechanic, also known as a car mechanic or auto technician, is a skilled professional who diagnoses, repairs, and maintains vehicles. They work on a variety of systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and electrical systems. Their work involves inspecting, testing, and repairing or replacing faulty parts, as well as performing routine maintenance like oil changes and tire rotations. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnosis: Identifying vehicle problems using diagnostic tools and their own expertise. 
     
  • Repair: Fixing or replacing damaged or worn-out parts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and other components. 
     
  • Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid checks, and tire rotations. 
     
  • Testing: Ensuring that repaired or replaced parts and systems function correctly. 
     
  • Communication: Explaining vehicle problems and repair recommendations to customers. 
     
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining records of work performed on each vehicle. 
     
  • Tool Maintenance: Keeping tools and equipment in good working order.
