Job Description – Accounts Payable (P2P) Team Lead

Location: Gurugram

Experience: 5+ Years

Department: Finance – Procure to Pay (P2P)

Role Overview

As an Accounts Payable Team Lead, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and leading the P2P team to achieve agreed SLAs and end-to-end performance metrics. You will oversee daily financial operations, ensure compliance with internal controls, and drive process improvements across the P2P cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end Procure to Pay (P2P) service delivery for processes in scope.
  • Oversee invoice processing, vendor master management, query resolution, indexing, invoice reconciliation, payments, T&E, P-Card, and accounts reporting activities.
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy in meeting Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Validate the proper financial treatment of all team transactions.
  • Maintain a robust internal control environment and ensure successful implementation of SOX and key operational controls.
  • Lead special projects and effectively manage customer expectations.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve operational issues promptly with optimal solutions.
  • Perform reporting and analysis for key KPI metrics such as Paid On Time (POT), First Pass Yield (FPY), PO penetration, etc.
  • Conduct weekly reviews of payment proposals, including high-value and critical vendor payments.
  • Perform regular vendor statement reconciliations.
  • Lead and manage the team, providing daily updates to management.
  • Document productivity, identify improvement opportunities, and implement process enhancements.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Train, guide, and mentor team members.
  • Plan, assign, and direct daily work activities.
  • Handle performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies and standard procedures.

Required Technical & Professional Expertise

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in P2P with strong exposure to complete P2P operations and transformation initiatives.
  • Proven experience managing all aspects of the Procure to Pay cycle.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate with multiple global stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to validate and interpret data effectively.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work across varied time zones, based on business needs.
