Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Fostering a culture of safety throughout the organization by promoting awareness, accountability and participating in safety initiatives at all levels.
  • To carry out / Organize plant Fire/ Safety inspections, Occupational Health and Safety Audits, Fire/ Safety Survey to identify any noncompliance, potential hazards and assessing risk across all the operations, Ensure preventive system to mitigate those risks.
  • Coordinating and participating project safety governance system in various subcommittees and assisting them for effective functioning.
  • Identify potential safety hazards and conduct risk assessments across all project activities.
  • Participate investigations into workplace accident injuries and near misses to determine root cause and prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure compliance wrt to legal obligations and ensure the compliance of applicable statutory requirements.  
  • Preparation and submission of Safety MIS on monthly basis and apprise to management.
  • Support in executing health and safety plans and method statements in the workplace according to legal guidelines and industrial best practices.
  • Organize / Conduct trainings for health and safety matters and accident prevention.
  • Organize / conduct Periodically audits and review the safety audit / inspections findings, ensure its compliances.
  • Organize / participate /coordinate awareness, motivational, promotional , accountability and participating in safety initiatives at all levels.
  • To carry out plant Fire/ Safety inspections, Occupational Health and Safety Audits, Fire/ Safety Survey to identify any noncompliance, potential hazards and assessing risk across all the operations, then developing strategies to mitigate those risks.
  • Ensure compliance / implementation of various technical and administrative standards / procedures / guidelines and developing tracking , monitoring and reviewing mechanism.
  • maintaining emergency response plans and organizing drills to ensure readiness for any potential emergencies.
  • To organize campaigns, competitions, contests, and other activities, which will develop and maintain the interest of workers in establishing and maintaining safe conditions of work and procedure.
  • Purchasing, ensuring high quality and availability of personal protective equipment and other Safety equipment's required during maintenance & operation of large-scale thermal plant.
  • To review "Job Specific Safety Review" of other departments. Participate Pre-Bid meetings/ kick off meeting for hiring new contractors and review their safety performance.
  • Review Job Safety Analysis of the critical jobs and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments of the other dept periodically.

Qualifications

Education Qualification

  • B.Tech /BE in any discipline + Post diploma in industrial safety from recognized institute

Experience:

  • 10-15 years of experience in thermal power / cement / steel plant project
  • Demonstrated track record of implementing safety initiatives and protocols
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and ensuring regulatory compliance
