About the Role

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled
Compiler Engineer
to join a leading AI research and development team. In this role, you'll design, extend, and optimize compiler frontends, intermediate representations (IR), and backends to enable new language features and deliver exceptional performance across diverse architectures.

This position is ideal for professionals passionate about systems programming, low-level performance optimization, and compiler technology that powers cutting-edge AI and high-performance computing (HPC) applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement new compiler features and optimizations across frontends, IR passes, and backends.
  • Enhance code generation, vectorization, and link-time optimizations to improve runtime performance.
  • Debug and validate compiler pipelines using tools such as ASAN/UBSAN, GDB, and Valgrind.
  • Collaborate with AI researchers and systems engineers to adapt compilers for machine learning and HPC workloads.
  • Maintain build systems and development workflows (Make, CMake).
  • Balance performance, correctness, and maintainability in compiler optimizations.
  • Contribute to the evolution of compiler technologies that directly impact large-scale system efficiency.

Qualifications / Skills Required

  • Strong foundation in
    Computer Science
    ,
    Systems Programming

    Compiler Engineering

  • Proficiency in
    C
    and
    C++
    with hands-on experience in compiler development.
  • Deep understanding of compiler frameworks such as
    LLVM/Clang
    ,
    GCC
    , or
    MLIR
    .
  • Experience with
    IR transformations
    ,
    code generation
    ,
    vectorization
    , and
    link-time optimization (LTO)
    .
  • Familiarity with
    build systems
    (Make, CMake) and
    debugging tools
    (ASAN/UBSAN, GDB, Valgrind).
  • Strong focus on performance, reliability, and correctness at the systems level.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior contributions to open-source compiler projects (LLVM, GCC, MLIR).
  • Experience optimizing compilers for AI, deep learning, or HPC workloads.
  • Knowledge of GPU or accelerator code generation.
  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Salary Range
