Data Analytics Senior Analyst

The Data Analytics Senior Analyst is a highly experienced professional who applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge to innovate new techniques, improve processes, and optimize workflows within the data analytics domain. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of how various sub-functions integrate to achieve broader business objectives. The Senior Analyst evaluates and resolves complex issues with significant potential impact, balancing diverse alternatives and utilizing multiple information sources. Strong analytical, communication, and diplomatic skills are essential for influencing decisions, coaching new recruits, and directly impacting the performance of teams across projects of substantial size and scope.

Key Responsibilities

• Advanced Analytics & Process Improvement: Apply profound disciplinary knowledge to contribute to the development of novel data analysis techniques and significantly enhance existing processes and workflows.
• Strategic Alignment & Integration: Coordinate and contribute to data science initiatives and overall business objectives by leveraging an in-depth understanding of how different areas collectively integrate within the sub-function.
• Leadership & Mentorship: Assume informal or formal leadership roles within teams, actively coaching and training new recruits to foster talent development.
• Influential Decision Making: Directly influence strategic decisions, work outcomes, and team performance through expert advice, counsel, and facilitating services across the business.
• Insight Generation & Communication: Conduct strategic data analysis, identify critical insights and their implications, make strategic recommendations, and develop clear, compelling data visualizations to communicate complex findings.
• Data Mining & Optimization: Mine and analyze data from various banking platforms to drive optimization efforts and enhance data quality and integrity.
• Analytics Project Delivery: Lead the successful delivery of analytics initiatives by defining requirements, assessing effort, establishing project plans, and addressing business problems effectively.
• Business Consultation & Problem Solving: Consult with business clients to define system functional specifications, and apply a comprehensive understanding of collective integration to achieve business goals. Solve complex system issues through in-depth evaluation of business processes, systems, and industry standards, recommending robust solutions.
• System Change Management: Lead the system change process from requirements gathering through implementation, providing essential user and operational support for applications to business users.
• Systems Scope Definition: Formulate and define systems scope and objectives for complex projects, combining thorough research and fact-finding with an understanding of applicable business systems and industry standards.
• Quality Assurance & Impact: Directly impact the business by ensuring the quality of work delivered by self and others, thereby positively affecting their own team and closely related work groups.
• Technology & Risk Assessment: Consider the business implications of applying technology to the current environment, identifying and communicating potential risks and impacts.
• Communication & Diplomacy: Drive effective communication between business leaders and IT, exhibiting sound and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills to exchange complex information.
• Risk Management & Compliance: Appropriately assess risk in business decisions, demonstrating keen consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by ensuring compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment, and transparently escalating, managing, and reporting control issues.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience utilizing tools for statistical modeling of large datasets.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in MicroStrategy and Tableau development, including report creation, dashboard design, and data visualization.
• Ability to effectively employ complex analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving techniques.
• Proven interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Education

• Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience.
