Bengaluru, Karnataka, India Smartsheet Full time ₹ 12,00,000 - ₹ 24,00,000 per year

For over 20 years, Smartsheet has helped people and teams achieve–well, anything. From seamless work management to smart, scalable solutions, we've always worked with flow. We're building tools that empower teams to automate the manual, uncover insights, and scale smarter. But more than that, we're creating space– space to think big, take action, and unlock the kind of work that truly matters. Because when challenge meets purpose, and passion turns into progress, that's magic at work, and it's what we show up for everyday.

We are looking for a People Analytics Analyst to support the data lifecycle—from extraction and cleanup to descriptive and visualized reporting—helping leaders understand and improve the organizational health and employee experience at Smartsheet. This role is responsible for executing analysis that helps the team utilize data insights to optimize talent programs and business results, including using findings generated by AI.

You will be an important part of our People & Culture team and will report to our Program Director.

You Will:

  • Design, develop, and maintain foundational descriptive reports and dashboards (e.g., headcount, turnover rates) to inform operational and actionable decisions including required compliance reporting.
  • Support the design and reporting of core organizational health KPIs (e.g., diversity, retention, engagement score) across People systems.
  • Assist with the administration of employee surveys (onboarding, exit, and engagement) and produce summaries of key results and trends for leaders.
  • In partnership with key stakeholders, proactively perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) and use analytical tools to uncover root causes and hidden signals related to employee behavior, including assisting with the interpretation of insights generated by AI/ML platforms.
  • Maintain and improve self-service reporting capabilities within Workday and support the creation of specialized reports using Workday Reporting to bridge data gaps.
  • Provide support and foundational guidance to leaders on interpreting reporting data and identifying core trends.
  • Prepare data and insights as visual outputs to be shared with executive and functional leaders as well as within the PC organization.
  • Assist in data provision and insights for the generation of regular reports, including the company's ESG report, pay gap analyses and similar outputs.

You Have:

  • Foundational understanding of HR functions (e.g., Compensation, Talent Development, Talent Acquisition) and how People Analytics is applied. Experience connecting People data to key business metrics and identifying areas for opportunity is highly preferred.
  • Understanding of data privacy, compliance, and ethical handling of people data (e.g.,DEI metrics).
  • Strong proficiency in data visualization and dashboarding (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker), with experience using visuals to reveal complex patterns and communicate insights clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to present analysis and findings to audiences including people leaders and internal partners, translating technical results into clear, actionable business language.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel for data cleaning, manipulation, and running descriptive statistics (e.g., mean, median, correlation, significance testing) is required.
  • AI/ML Platform experience for data insight generation is preferred.
  • Familiarity with configuring reports and understanding data structures in a major HRIS (e.g., Workday, SAP, SuccessFactors) and an Applicant Tracking System (ATS). Experience with Workday, Gem and Greenhouse is highly preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in an analytical role, such as Data Analyst, Business Intelligence, involving the use of data to drive business decisions.
