Job Description Summary

-Specialist/Engineer for a Sandoz Core Infrastructure Services /Engineering team. -Is supporting execution continuous improvement service delivery and operations of a specific function /platform. OR supports developing and maintaining a technology roadmap according to the respective Service Strategies of a specific function/platform. -Perform the operational health deployment and lifecycle of the technology and/or platform solutions OR Design and deploy technology solutions and/or act as L4 support during major and critical incidents. -Automation of service deployments and management to enable modern delivery flows including DevOps and SRE with a goal of providing efficiency. flexibility and speed at the lowest aggregate cost.

Global Service Expert, Compute Platforms

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Operate Compute Platforms
  • Execute the effective delivery and service operations of Compute Platforms including all operating systems leveraged in the organization.
  • Ensure best-in-class support for compute platform technologies across the company not only in the IT infrastructure area, but also providing services and solutions to all application teams onboarding and leveraging these technologies.
  • Over-see the operational health, management, security, lifecycle, and reliability.
  • Responsible for the 24x7 operational oversight and direction to both external technical and engineering teams.
  • Accountable for managing suppliers in ensuring they deliver quality services and meet all contractual obligations. Tracks actual utilization of services and reporting of supplier performance in meet-ng business service expectations and service levels.
  • Support and ensure compliance to defined IT Governance controls, standards, and practices.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • University degree (Computer Science or comparable education preferred)
  • Fluent English written and spoken
  • 10+ years of experience in working with virtualized OS deployments for both Windows and Linux understanding performance tuning, high availability design, security hardening, release management.
  • 5+ years of experience with hyper converged infrastructure platforms
  • Experience in both on-prem and cloud deployment of workloads.
  • Experience in hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
  • Experience in Service Management or Engineering of a global service portfolio in similar areas as above, across geographies and business areas.
  • Track record in delivering on time, quality and budget. Experience in negotiating agreements with corporate suppliers in close co-operation with the sourcing function.
