Role Overview
The Retail Operations Manager / GM will oversee the complete retail function of the company. This includes ensuring smooth operations across all branch stores, managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and coordinating with other departments. The role is responsible for achieving operational excellence and driving business growth through effective day-to-day management.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the link between
Store Managers
and
Management
. - Stay aware of all store-related issues and challenges.
- Assist any department that needs coordination with other teams and follow up until the task is completed.
- Monitor the performance of all stores and ensure targets are achieved.
- Maintain good relationships with employees at all levels — from new joiners to senior staff.
- Make small operational decisions independently and discuss major ones with management.
- Manage Store Managers, handle salary-related matters, and make recommendations for increments or staff adjustments as needed.
- Handle all aspects of daily operations across all branches, including staffing, inventory, visual merchandising, and customer service.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Maintain reports on store operations, inventory levels, and vendor updates for better planning and improvement
- Track store performance and resolve any issues quickly.
- Conduct daily or regular store walk-throughs to ensure proper functioning.
- Act as the main decision-maker for retail operations.
- Escalate major decisions to management when required.
- Work closely with the Marketing, Finance, Logistics, and HR teams to ensure smooth coordination and alignment of strategies.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms to get the best deals and ensure timely product availability as per store demand.
- Conduct regular store visits, audits, and performance reviews.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate branch managers and retail staff.
- Manage operational budgets, control costs, and identify areas for efficiency improvement.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of store-level employees.
- Implement customer service standards and handle escalated customer concerns effectively.
- Prepare and present weekly/monthly operational reports and recommendations for management review.
- Oversee new store openings, relocations, or renovations as per company guidelines.
Requirements
- Experience:
8–10 years of experience in
retail operations management
or a similar leadership role. - Location: Bangalore , Gandhinagar
- Languages known: English, Kannada
- Job Timings
- 10 am to 7 pm
- Qualification:
Graduate or Postgraduate degree in
Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field.
