Job Summary

The OE Mill Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising day-to-day operations in the Open-End (OE) spinning section. The role ensures smooth production, machine efficiency, manpower management, quality control, and adherence to safety and maintenance standards. The supervisor ensures production targets are met with minimum downtime and maximum productivity.

Key Responsibilities1. Production Management

  • Monitor OE spinning operations and ensure all machines run efficiently.
  • Achieve daily production targets and maintain optimum machine utilization.
  • Reduce waste, ends-down, and quality defects.
  • Track production reports and submit shift-wise performance updates.

2. Quality Control

  • Ensure yarn quality meets customer specifications and standards.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on yarn parameters (count, strength, U%, CV%, imperfections).
  • Coordinate with QA team to resolve quality deviations immediately.
  • Implement corrective actions to reduce shade variations and contamination.

3. Manpower Handling

  • Allocate operators, fitters, doffers, and helpers effectively.
  • Train new employees on machine operation, safety, and quality standards.
  • Monitor shift discipline, attendance, and operator performance.
  • Motivate team to achieve shift production with minimum downtime.

4. Machine & Maintenance Coordination

  • Ensure proper cleaning, lubrication, and preventive maintenance of OE machines.
  • Report mechanical/electrical issues to the maintenance team for quick rectification.
  • Reduce recurring breakdowns through root cause analysis and corrective actions.

5. Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain shift production records, waste reports, downtime details, and material usage.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required by management.
  • Ensure proper handover between shifts with documented updates.

6. Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all safety rules, PPE usage, and statutory guidelines are followed.
  • Conduct safety toolbox meetings and coordinate with EHS team.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas (5S implementation).

Skill Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of OE Spinning Technology (Rieter, Schlafhorst, Rotor machines).
  • Understanding of yarn quality parameters and troubleshooting.
  • Good leadership and team management skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, ERP entry).
  • Ability to work in shifts and handle pressure situations.

Qualifications

  • Diploma / B.Tech in Textile Technology (preferred).
  • 3–8 years of experience in OE spinning/production supervisory role.
