Job Description

Sr Specialist Database Administration

This position is for Database administration of Oracle and Postgres databases for Network service assurance applications.

Major Responsibilities Include:
  • Assisting in optimization and troubleshooting performance issues
  • Coordinating regular database patch updates
  • Setting up new databases
  • Data migration to new database instances
  • Database version upgrades
  • Address Security violations
  • Application team support
Required Skills:
  • Proficiency in Oracle Database administration, including Oracle RDBMS, SQL, PL/SQL, and related tools (e.g., SQL Developer, RMAN).
  • Proficiency in PostgreSQL administration, including PostgreSQL RDBMS, SQL, and related tools (e.g., pgAdmin, psql).
  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques for both Oracle and PostgreSQL.
  • Strong understanding of database security principles and best practices.
  • Experience with backup and recovery strategies for both database types.
  • Familiarity with operating systems (e.g., Linux, Unix, Windows) and scripting languages.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, PostgreSQL certifications) may be preferred.
Overall Experience:

8 years in relevant technologies. Co-working with geographically distributed teams. Open to work in overlapping with US work hours.
