Role Summary (Factory Planner)
Own the end-to-end planning flow from order intake to on-time, in-full (OTIF) dispatch.
Coordinate Design, Stores, Purchase, Production, NPD, Outsourcing Vendors and Maintenance
to:
- reserve and secure materials, 2) convert plans into firm production dates, 3) track all exceptions daily, and 4) publish reliable dates to Head Office
(Sales/Projects/Planning).
This is a hands-on, follow-up heavy role with clear daily rituals and SLAs.

Key partners: Design Head (Tara), Purchase, Stores, Production Managers, NPD Lead,
Maintenance, HO Project Planning & Sales
Systems: Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central (ICT/ICS/GRN/Production Orders),
Excel/Power BI, WhatsApp/email for escalations

Core Responsibilities
A. Order Intake & Master Planning
- Pull confirmed orders from Design/HO; validate BOM version, finish, and special notes (ECN/changes).
- Create/maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS): sequence lots, capacity
buckets, color/changeover logic, and outsource dependencies.
- Freeze a weekly build plan; publish committed delivery dates to HO.
B. Material Planning (NAV/BC)
- Trigger reservation of available stock in Stores (ICT/Reservation).
- Run MRP shortfall raise Indent for balance items; push Purchase to convert to PO
within SLA.
- For make-to-order parts (laser/press/bending), generate internal production/outsourcing
requests with due dates aligned to final assembly.
C. Purchase & Vendor Follow-up
- Track all POs to acknowledged date, promised date, and risk flags (delay, partial).
- Maintain a Shortage Board (daily): item, qty, ETA, responsible buyer, workaround plan.
- For outsourcing: issue drawings/BOM, confirm capacity slot, follow kitting/return dates.
D. GRN/GRM Production Handover
- On GRN/GRM by Stores, notify Production; update MPS to reflect materials
complete.
- Confirm line availability; issue Firm Production Orders with start/finish dates.
E. NPD/Prototype &Tooling
- For new designs: create a proto plan (materials, jig/fixture/tooling/mould timelines) and a trial run slot.
- After proto approval, convert to standard with final BOM/routings, then launch main production.
F. Maintenance Dependencies
- Track critical equipment uptime; when planned maintenance affects schedule, pre-pull or
resequence affected jobs.
- Escalate breakdowns & 2 hours; communicate revised dates same day.
G. Date Communication & Reporting
- Single source of truth for dates to HO (Sales/Projects/Planning).
- Publish dashboards: OTIF, shortages, re-plans, proto status, outsource status, daily output vs plan.
H. Change Control & Version Hygiene
- Enforce ECN control: no build without current revision; re-reserve and re-indent on
changes.
- Keep NAV/BC system hygiene: reservations, indents, firm plan orders, GRN links
updated same day.
I. Continuous Improvement
- Reduce lead time, color-change losses, kit shortages; standardize MOQ/EOQ and safety stock for A-class items.
Skills & Experience
- 4-8 years in factory planning/production control in metal/board furniture or similar discrete manufacturing.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP(reservations/indents/MRP/production orders).
- Advanced Excel; Power BI basics; comfort with structured daily follow-ups and stakeholder management.
- Traits: assertive communicator, bias for action, detail-oriented, escalation discipline.
Education: Engineering/Operations/Industrial preferred; APICS/CPIM nice to have.
