Responsibilities

  • Machine setup and operation: Program, set up, and operate CNC machines with precision and safety.
  • Tooling: Change and adjust cutting tools as needed, including performing tool offsets.
  • Inspection and quality control: Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to inspect finished parts for accuracy using precision measuring instruments like micrometers and calipers.
  • Problem-solving: Adjust machine settings, post-edit programs to optimize performance, and troubleshoot any malfunctions to ensure parts are within tolerance.
  • Production support: Perform first-piece inspections and monitor the machine during operation to ensure all parts are produced on schedule and to quality standards.
  • Maintenance: Perform daily maintenance to ensure the machine runs smoothly.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate records and documentation of machine actions and production.
  • Workplace management: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and follow all company policies.

Requirements and skills

  • Experience: Experience in setting up and operating CNC machines.
  • Technical skills: Proficiency in reading technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Measurement skills: Experience with precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
  • Programming knowledge: Familiarity with CNC programming and control systems (e.g., Fanuc).
  • Quality focus: Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict quality requirements and tolerances.
  • Troubleshooting: Ability to effectively troubleshoot and problem-solve on the fly.
  • Safety: Strong commitment to following all safety procedures and standards
