Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook high-quality Chinese dishes (wok, grilling, frying, soups, noodles, etc.).
  • Manage and oversee operations in your assigned kitchen section.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and food quality.
  • Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and creating new Chinese dishes.
  • Maintain proper hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards in the kitchen.
  • Monitor stock levels, handle ingredient requisition, and reduce wastage.
  • Train and guide Commis chefs in the Chinese cuisine section.
  • Ensure timely preparation of dishes during peak hours.
  • Coordinate with the Head Chef and kitchen team for smooth operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience as a Chinese Commis
  • Expertise in Chinese cuisine (Cantonese, Sichuan, Hakka, or Indo-Chinese).
  • Strong wok skills and knowledge of sauces and flavor profiles.
  • Good understanding of kitchen operations, hygiene standards, and food safety.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
