This is the Invention Age - and this is where you come in.General Summary:Qualcomm is seeking a motivated Vice President of Engineering, IE-IoT Software Solutions, to guide and promote Qualcomm chipsets for new and emerging applications.The successful candidate will shape the technology roadmap and software product requirements, evaluate business opportunities, oversee execution, and support go-to-market strategies and global customer interactions.This role requires extensive experience with Linux, especially in AI and IoT Software Solutions.Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, along with the capacity to collaborate and influence multiple teams—Product Management, Business Development, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Sales—are essential. Key Responsibilities:Manage a large SW development engineering team to deliver quality SW on time for varies Chipsets for IE-IOT Business Unit.Should be able to grow and lead a team of talented SW engineers, should be able to attract and hire key folks.Should have hands on SW experience in one or more of : Linux, Windows, Android and various technologies.Should be able look at existing processes and figure out quickly what's working and what's not. Define new processes where needed.Lead the development of complex or new products and services, maintaining communication across teams.Define use cases, contribute to architecture, and influence requirements for SDKs, software stacks, and solutions.Collaborate with customers and engineering teams on RFIs, RFQs, and system-level use case analysis.Translate customer needs and market trends into feature requests for a competitive product roadmap.Set product goals, assess feasibility, and support cross-functional decision-making.Provide input on key organizational decisions and consult with senior leadership.Drive innovation and develop new products or processes with minimal supervision.Minimum Requirements:Over 20 years of engineering or related experienceBachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Humanities, or related fieldPreferred Qualifications:Over 20 years of engineering or related experienceMaster's or PhD in a relevant fieldExpertise in camera and vision technologies, including algorithms, sensors, imaging, and related toolsStrong knowledge of camera subsystems and industry trendsSolid understanding of Embedded Linux and Android internalsExperience with sensors, bus interfaces, and open-source frameworks like libcamera and V4L2Familiarity with OpenCL or CUDA is beneficialStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to excel in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and discuss complex ideas with partners and executivesIn addition to experience, the ideal candidate will demonstrate:Strategic Execution: Drives plans that support key priorities and company objectives, with significant impact on critical projects and global decisions, while upholding ethical standards.Coaching & Development: Provides leadership and fosters talent development, aligning teams and individuals with the company's vision and goals.Impactful Innovation: Inspires innovation and new business opportunities by encouraging breakthrough ideas and anticipating future needs.Clear Communication: Communicates the strategic vision effectively and encourages open, respectful, and inclusive discussions.LOCATIONPosition based in Hyderabad, India, with full relocation support.Applicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
