Engineering Customer Manager

You will join our OPmobility India Technical Centre (ITC) Hinjewadi, Pune.

ITC is part of OPmobility Exterior Business group from where we cater engineering and technical services to customers globally. Currently employing 200+ talented professionals, we have strong plans to grow several folds in next years. 

  Your main tasks will be to:

Engineering / Technical  centre Management:

  • Ensure compliance with Corporate and Division HSE objectives and requirements
  • Define, negotiate and control the department budget in line with ITC strategy.
  • Track, and update the R&D progress plan with relevant elements
  • Follow department KPIs and ensure clear adherence
  • Ensure proper development of métier expertise through lessons learned, application of division standards and best practices, and transfer of know-how
  • Manage development performance and ensure relevant action plans are in place
  • Builds a resource plan based on ITC strategy and business award, and ensures timely staffing
  • Develop the skill of team members through organised Training
  • Ensure that confidentiality & security rules are applied and respected within the teams
  • Monitor usage of CAD licenses and prepare request for additional/new licenses as per business requirement.
  • Support IT for Hardware and software requirement.

Project development:

  • Define resources structure to ensure design to cost approach
  • Be customer focused providing first class service and ensuring quality in design and development
  • Contribute to cost reduction by a "right first time" approach
  • Promote and ensure usage and adherence of standards, contribute to development and improvements (feedback, etc.)

Ensure technical relationship with suppliers & partners (suppliers, subcontractors…)

Other activities:

  • Support re-location process for employees moving from Pune to Bangalore where necessary

Develop local vendor base for sub-contracting services as per requirements

Previous Experience:

  • Minimum 20 years of automotive industry experience. Minimum10 years' experience in automotive product engineering and 10 years in automotive Engineering Management experience.
  • Experience in developing new team organisation covering range of activities including activity planning, resource planning, hardware and infrastructure planning would be added advantage
