Senior Accountant – Manufacturing Industry

Position: Senior Accountant

Department: Finance & Accounts

Location: Andheri West

Qualification: B.Com / M.Com / CA Inter / CMA / MBA (Finance)

Role Overview:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing end-to-end accounting operations, statutory compliance, taxation, and financial reporting for the manufacturing unit. The role requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of accounting standards, and hands-on experience in GST, TDS, and audit processes. Proficiency in Excel, including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables, and ERP systems is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Prepare and post journal entries ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
  • Manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end closing activities.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations, vendor reconciliations, and customer account reconciliations.
  • Monitor and analyze cost accounting, inventory transactions, and manufacturing expenses.

2. Taxation & Statutory Compliance

  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of GST returns, TDS returns, and other statutory filings.
  • Handle statutory audits, internal audits, and tax audits; provide necessary documentation and responses.
  • Maintain compliance with Companies Act, Income Tax Act, GST Act, and other regulatory requirements.

3. Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and MIS reports.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Support management with financial insights for decision-making.

4. Process Improvement

  • Streamline accounting processes and strengthen internal controls.
  • Assist in ERP implementation and optimization.

5. Advanced Excel & ERP Skills

  • Use VLOOKUP, Pivot Table, HLOOKUP, Index-Match, and other Excel tools for reporting and data analysis.
  • Handle accounting tasks using ERP systems such as SAP / Tally / Oracle (as applicable).

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting, costing, and inventory management.
  • In-depth knowledge of GST, TDS, statutory compliance, and audit procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and team coordination abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, with advanced formula and data analysis capability.
  • Experience with ERP/accounting software.
