What does a successful Backend Developer do at Fiserv? A successful Backend Developer at Fiserv plays a crucial role in developing internal applications that enhance our service capabilities. You will be part of the dynamic Service Team and actively collaborate with larger application teams. Our mission is to provide innovative technology solutions that align with the fast-paced, evolving financial services industry. Your expertise will ensure the seamless integration of backend services, contributing to the overall success of our clients and their customers.

What you will do:

• Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code using best software development practices.
• Create REST API services following standard practices.
• Refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies/industry trends and integrate them into operations and activities.
• Collaborate with designers to align application structure and standards.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications to ensure optimal performance.
• Create and execute unit test cases to ensure code quality and reliability.
• Integrate data from various backend services and databases.

What you will need to have:

• 7+ years of experience in Java coding, testing, or developing technical solutions.
• 7+ years of experience in Java Server side development, RestAPI development, and J2EE.
• 7+ years of experience with Core Java development, server-side programming, servlets, RESTAPIs design, SQL, JUNIT, and CICD.
• Experience with API development and tools such as Swagger.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience and/or equivalent military experience.

What would be great to have:

• 7+ years of experience with FinTech industry-related development.
• Experience with Portfolio applications such as Clarity.
• Knowledge of additional programming languages and frameworks such as Python, Angular, CSS.
• Experience with cloud migration projects.
